VENUES - The Refectory

The Refectory is the grand hall of the Holme Building and was built in 1924; it takes its name from the grand dining halls within Oxford and Cambridge Universities. The Refectory evokes an atmosphere of sophisticated elegance with its fine timber panelled walls, soaring ceilings and exquisite French doors opening onto the terrace, overlooking the cottage lawn. An impressive feature of the room is the renowned mural "Mankind" painted by Vergil Lo Schiavo.
